June 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - June 23, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
Part 1 will introduce you to important edible and medicinal plants available early in the growing season. John’s expertise and television documentaries have gained him worldwide recognition. Come and find out which plants were important both as food and for medicinal use to the native inhabitants of this area. This course is a mix of botany, history and chemistry with hands-on plant identification. Students will study plants in the Sinks Canyon area. Consider registering for Part 2 to learn what plants are available later in the growing season. Please be prepared to be outside all day. Bring a lunch/snacks, water, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and insect repellant. A notebook and camera are strongly recommended. John’s classes fill quickly so register early!
Meet at Bruce’s parking lot in Sinks Canyon.
